POWER SONGS

I'm happy to report that I have been going to the gym and working out almost every day for a month now. The results are visible already (mostly to me :D). Unfortunately I can't measure my body fat percentage at the moment, so I can't really track the progress I was hoping to track. But I will try to find a solution to that. And I'm also waiting for my boy to take a "during" photo of me, so I can see if there is actually any progress that can be seen or is it all just in my head. Hopefully not.

The thing I wanted to talk about today are the power songs, the songs that keep you going when you are thinking about giving up. That mostly happens when you are running or on a treadmill, because the movement the same all the time and you get bored quite fast (at least I do). So I picked top 3 songs that keep me going, even though they are not the type of the music that I listen to at all, but I guess I kind of got used to the "gym music".

2. Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo & 2Chainz
3. Roar by Katy Perry

The first one is a party song, a song that will get you started, make you think about the summer, about all the summer parties and consequently also about how you want to look your best for that. The second one is a "sexy one" and the "gipsy beat" in the chorus is the part that will really motivate you and make you keep running or walking or whatever towards the goal. And the third one is, at least for me, the best song to listen to when you are really on the verge of giving up. When I think I can't breathe and that my legs will give up, even though it's all just in my head, this song really picks me up, makes feel like a champion, like I'm stronger and keeps me going.

If you have been looking for power songs that will help you with achieving the goals you have set for yourself, I think I picked 3 really good ones. Give them a try.

IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE


Even though the weather is not changing, Ljubljana is still "covered" with snow and parts of Slovenia still don't have electricity, because the ice destroyed the electric poles, I decided it's time for some changes in my life. I realized I love all the food too much so I don't want to deprive myself from all the delicious and not-so-healthy food I enjoy from time to time. But I still have to burn it somehow, because I definitely want to be proud to show my body this summer and enjoy the sun, the outside parties and festivals in my bikinis without any shame.

I started going to the gym that is located 10 minutes of walking away from my apartment. For now I am doing everything, cardio + machines for all the muscles (or for the problematic ones, but I guess all of them are a problem for me at the moment, heh). I also started eating better, at least during the week. More fruit, more nuts, no junk. Weekends are more problematic I think, since I can't really delegate what my mum or mother-in-law makes for lunch. BUT, my childhood room has recently been turned in a small home gym, so I don't have an excuse not to exercise also during the weekend now. For now, I am really motivated, even though some of the muscles still hurt from the yesterday's exercise. But it is gonna get better. I hope. And I can't wait for the results after a month, two, three...

SOMETHING TO KEEP ME GOING

Ko pomislim na to, da se bom morala konec januarja vrniti v (se opravičujem vsem slovenskim patriotom) nekoliko dolgočasno Slovenijo, postanem kar malo žalostna. Vendar, da ne bi padla v globoko depresijo, takoj ko bi se dotaknila slovenskih tal, sem dobila idejo, ki me bo (oziroma me že) malo drži pokonci. In to je: preurejanje stanovanja v Ljubljani. No, ne bo ravno nek grozen projekt, glede na to, da živim majhni garsonjeri. Kljub temu se mi zdi da ima moje majhno stanovanjce veliko neizkoriščenega potenciala. In seveda, ko se sprehajam po trgovinah tukaj na Švedskem, dobivam same dobre ideje, kako bi ga lahko polepšala. Dodatne ideje seveda iščem po različnih spletnih straneh, predvsem Pinterestu in straneh, z izdelki za dom (npr. Sisi Shop). Poleg tega pa je tudi Metka že nekaj premikala omare, tako da mi je tudi ona pomagala pri vsem tem, brez da bi sploh vedela. No, končno se veselim Slovenije, februarja in prihajajočega projekta.

When I think about the fact that in end of January I will have to return to (apologizing to all the Slovenian patriots) boring Slovenia, I get sad. Luckily, I got an idea that will (and already does) keep me going and prevent me to fall into deep depression as soon as my feet touch the Slovenian ground. This is: renovation of my apartment in Ljubljana. Well, it will not be a really big project, since I live in a small studio apartment. Still, I think the apartment has a lot of unused potential. And of course, when I walk around Sweden the ideas just keep rushing into my head.  I look for additional ideas on Pinterest and pages which sell stuff for the apartment (for example Sisi Shop). Also, Metka already moved some wardrobes in the apartment and help me with the realisation of my idea without even knowing. I think I am finally looking forward to come back to Slovenia, looking forward to February and to my future project.

There are 5 more days of all-day-studying in front of me and I found a song that motivates me. It's full of summer and sun and dance and parties and everything else that the summer season represents. :)

Now back to studying. I can do it!

Random: Lack of Motivation

Why is it so hard to study this year? I have a terrible lack of motivation and every small thing distracts me from studying. And then I'm all grumpy and sad, even though I know it's my fault. So I had an idea, that a motivation post would help me get a little bit more motivated for these two weeks. I really do hope so. And since it's the exam period for all of the students, this might help someone else too. Good luck to you all! :)
